Procurement of Innovation platform

Germany

KOINNO

The German Competence Centre for innovation procurement, KOINNO, was established by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The centre is driven by the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME). The integrated EU-contact-point is managed by the Innovation Agency ZENIT. BME works to reach procurers in rural and economically disadvantaged regions within Germany, finding solutions for the challenges these procurers face. ZENIT functions as the EU Contact Point for public procurements of innovative solutions in Germany. It assists German procurers to apply for EU funding for innovation procurement, including also pre-commercial procurement (PCP) actions.

As part of Procure2Innovate, KOINNO will be exploring the use of financial incentive schemes, and in-house training seminars for innovation procurement.
